Bilingual Education
On the drive from Hartsfield Jackson to any city in the greater Atlanta area, it’s inevitable to pass by signs lacking any English translation. Much like New York City has its well-known spots like ChinaTown and Little Italy, ask any Atlantan where the nearest international market or the best authentic foreign cuisine is and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction, or at the very least know someone who will. These characteristics of the city have given Atlanta its reputation as a global space, and the next generation of Atlantans are preparing to become active members of this diverse city through bilingual education.
Join us to explore the globalization of the K-12 curriculum in Atlanta through the growing Dual-Language Immersion program as well as private non-profit schools that have emerged from specific heritage communities, focusing on how these programs prepare students to be global citizens in the 21st century.
